Tapping Big Leaf Maple Trees

Tapping Maple trees is another hobby we enjoy on the farm.

Tapping spiles and lines into a 1-1/2" drilled hole.

Boiled and reduced 5 gallons down.

Boiled down further to remove excess water and the result is sweet maple syrup.

Tried and True

This maple syrup was excellent on pancakes. Next year we may try wine and candy.
